The history of Excited Delirium Syndrome can be better understood by analyzing its history through the lens of various theories related to the fields of Sociology and the Study of Religion. San Diego State University Professor Dr. Rebecca Bartel reminds us that while theories are not necessarily absolute truths, they are very valuable tools to examine and observe social phenomena which allows us to better understand the world around us (2025). With each progression of theory in all fields of social sciences we are better able to understand the world around us and what has made us who we are today.
